Aer Clearing Oil for Acne Prone Skin

The old phrase is true that less is more. When I am trying to find something that best fits my facial routine, I am always looking for organic, budget friendly, and for ingredients I can actually pronounce. That means ingredients like Phthalates and Triclosan are not allowed in my drawer as well as their lovely counterparts Parabens and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate.  I always say you should be looking at your beauty products, the same way you look at your food labels, especially when you have sensitive acne prone skin. So, when something comes along with four simple organic ingredients at a good price, my ears perk up and my skin becomes flushed with the possibility of skin renewal.

In come Live Botanical’s Aer Clearing Face Oil, with four organic ingredients mixed together to combat your face’s worst enemy: acne. This clearing oil does what it says and much more. It is loaded with Pumpkin Seed Oil, Calendula, Apricot Kernel Oil, and Sunflower Seed Oil. That’s it. Four organic Ingredients I could probably cook with as well. And don’t think that just because this oil is filled with more oil it means grease on the face and more pimples. These natural oils actually keep your skin moisturized, smooth and glowing, as well as beats away those pesky pimples.

Starting off with ingredient number one: Pumpkin Seed Oil. This oil is the highlight of this face oil as it does the best at clearing acne prone skin to reach firmness due to its high levels of linoleic acid, omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, zinc, selenium, and Vitamin A & E. By using an unrefined oil, the omega 3 and 6 fatty acids ensure a potent moisturizer without any sort of buildup. The natural nutrients in the pumpkin seeds, particularly zinc and vitamin C, also help firm and tighten the skin. The oil is also high in linoleic acid, which is great for acne prone people since they usually have low levels of this acid in their skin surface lipids. And when the skin is deficient in linoleic acid, our skins natural sebum becomes thick and sticky which clogs pores and creates acne. When our skin’s natural sebum is predominantly composed of lipids high in linoleic acid we tend to have little to no break outs. I’ll take two bottles then!

Aiding the anti acne and plumping properties, Pumpkin Seed Oil, is paired with organic Calendula, which has been used in traditional cultures for centuries to heal the skin. The powerful astringent, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties help reduce breakouts over time as well as provide antioxidant protection to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, age spots and scars.

And if that wasn’t enough to fight the day to day beatings our skin takes, Apricot Kernel Oil and Sunflower Seed Oil, can be added to the mixture of this beauty elixir. Apricot Kernel Oil is especially known for its nourishing properties for hormone induced acne. And since it percolates so deep into the skin with its rich essential fatty acids, it is also does wonders for premature aging, and dry/irritated skin.

The Sunflower Seed Oil is the last great addition to this mixture. According to the National Sunflower Association (yes, it exists!), the wild sunflower is native to North America and possesses a high concentration of Vitamin E, which is crucial when protecting the skin from environmental stressors. But, its main ingredient happens to be the same one composed in our beloved Pumpkin Seed Oil: linoleic acid, which is a godsend for people prone to acne. Its other components include oleic acid and palmitic acid. So, if there ever was a person struggling with the long hated problem of pimples, scarring and wrinkles, its time to oil it up with these four crucial ingredients. Happy oiling!
